Financial boost for 49ers Enterprises already after Leeds United among top six in latest Elland Road development

The 49ers Enterprises have been handed a financial boost as Leeds United were in the top six clubs in England for week one shirt sales, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post (YEP).

The newspaper reported on its website on Friday (21 July) that the new Whites owners must make money if they want to spend money at the club.

And the YEP explained that the US-based group can do exactly that given how Leeds are among England’s biggest clubs when it comes to shirt sales.

“The challenge for 49ers Enterprises, if they want to spend, is to make profit and sustainability headroom by making money,” according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“In that sense, they bought the right club because the YEP understands week one shirt sales put Leeds in the top six in the country. The matchday revenue and money pulled in through ticket sales will be top of the entire EFL.

“The new front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with BOXT won’t be bettered in the EFL and is thought to be a record outside the Premier League. Then there’s the parachute payments.”

Welcome boost

The Whites have been handed plenty of bad news in recent times, namely the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

But things are starting to look up at Elland Road, with Daniel Farke coming into the dugout as the 49ers take over the club.

The good news will need to keep on coming both on and off the pitch if the Yorkshire outfit are to have any chance of an immediate promotion back to the Premier League, but this step-by-step process is seemingly working wonders at this moment in time.

Leeds might not have always been among the giants of English football when it comes to performances or results, but the loyalty and passion of the fanbase cannot be questioned.

The majority of those fans stuck by their club last season despite the disappointing displays on the pitch, and this latest development proves their loyalty once again.

It is also a superb boost for the 49ers, who are slowly but surely learning just how good an investment Leeds might just turn out to be.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are “confident” of keeping four senior players at Elland Road for another season.
