Finance expert: Leeds United to lose over £100m+ as parachute payments verdict shared
Leeds United are likely to lose over £100million in revenue after falling back into the Championship.
Tottenham ran out 4-1 winners at Elland Road to end the Whites’ three-year spell in the top flight and condemn the Yorkshire side to Championship football once again.
Writing on Twitter on Monday 29 May, Maguire suggested that, even with parachute payments, Leeds and Leicester could lose a significant amount in revenue next season.

“Even with parachute payments Leicester and Leeds in particular are likely to have revenue losses of over £100 million in the Championship next season,” he wrote (Twitter, 29 May).
No surprise
This will come as no surprise.
We all know the revenue in the Premier League is what makes survival so important. It’s Andrea Radrizzani’s mess and it now needs cleaning up. Where Leeds go from here remains to be seen. The board have a number big decisions which need to be made.
A sporting director needs to be appointed. It’s a structure Radrizzani has liked to utilise and it’s the first vacancy which needs to be filled. Once Orta’s replacement is found, the board can then start to target a manager who will be able to get the club back in the Premier League at the first attempt.

Securing promotion as soon as possible has to be the aim. Far too often we see massive clubs struggle to bounce back after falling into the second tier. Leeds know better than most.
Most of the squad are contracted for a long period of time which could see a number of players remain. Let’s hope they’ve got what it takes to return at the first attempt.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign one 13-goal forward this summer after an impressive European season.
