Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has £5.75m release clause as Leeds United make offer for managers job
Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is seriously considering an offer from Leeds to become their new manager, and he has a £5.75m release clause in his contract according to The Independent.
Jesse Marsch was sacked after less than a year in charge following a string of poor results, and the club had a shortlist of options to take over including Dutch boss Slot.
They have now made the Feyenoord boss an offer to take over, but he is having doubts with his current side sitting top of the league but should he opt to accept the offer it will be seen as an “easy” deal to complete.

“However, should Slot accept the offer, it would be an easy deal for the Premier League club to conclude given the presence of a release clause of €6.5 million (£5.75m) in his contract,” Miguel Delaney wrote (10 February).
Convincing
Not everything is about money, but there is a chance for Slot to come to England and earn more for himself and have more to play with by joining Leeds.
Obviously winning the title in Holland is a big achievement, especially when you’re not the manager of Ajax or PSV Eindhoven but it’s clear that the lure of Elland Road is getting to him.

His comments about opening a message tells you he wants to listen to what the club have to say, and therefore Victor Orta and the board must go all out to convince him that this is the place to be.
The release clause is small change for Leeds when it comes to bringing in the man they want, and although it seems as though Slot wasn’t first choice ahead of the likes of Carlos Corberan and even Marcelo Gallardo.
While getting the appointment right is obviously very important, time is of the essence and the deal needs to be done quickly otherwise we have to move on.
In other Leeds news, Simon Jordan has warned the club not to take a “punt” on one risky managerial appointment.
