Fenerbahce president Ali Koc: No contact for Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa

Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has confirmed that he’s yet to make contact with Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking to Milliyet, Koc said that Bielsa had been linked with the managerial vacancy at Fenerbahce with Emre Belözoğlu set to leave his job as caretaker boss now the Turkish season has ended.

Koc said: “Our name is mentioned with Bielsa, we have not had any contact yet.

“But we are looking at managers of Bielsa’s calibre. He is a manager close to the calibre we are looking for.”

There’s absolutely no way that Bielsa would leave Leeds for a job at Fenerbahce. Absolutely no chance at all.

For Koc to suggest something could happen in the future by saying “yet” must be him just spouting nonsense to maybe appease the Fenerbahce fans after they missed out on the Turkish Super Lig title.

It’s been widely reported that Bielsa is set to sign a new contract at Elland Road.

Every summer we see similar speculation about him leaving but that’s simply because he only signs one year at a time as he doesn’t want to commit himself for too long.

Remember, he is 65-years-old.

Bielsa’s a legend at Leeds – why would he want to quit his job in the Premier League to join a Turkish Super Lig club that’s been an epic failure in recent years?

No, it’s definitely not going to happen and Koc shouldn’t even bother talking about the Argentine.

In other Leeds United news, this Elland Road-linked ace has confirmed he wants to quit his club to move to the Premier League.
