La Liga giants FC Barcelona may be forced to end their summer pursuit of Leeds United attacker Raphinha.
Cadena Ser journalist Sique Rodriguez Gairi told Spanish radio station Què T’hi Jugues that the Catalan side are on the brink of a financial collapse.
Regardless of links to the likes of Raphinha and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, they are currently struggling to get Sergi Roberto’s contract renewal over the line.
This should come as terrific news for Leeds fans as they would hate to see Raphinha leave, especially after his heroics against Brentford.
The Whites were destined for relegation and needed to beat the Bees or at least avoid defeat and hope that Newcastle does them a favour and beats Burnley.
That is precisely what happened but Raphinha was required to come up with the goods and score the penalty that would’ve given them an important lead in the second period.
He held his nerve and sent the travelling Leeds fans into ecstasy and once 17th place was confirmed, he even went into the stands to celebrate with them.

This certainly looks like a player that loves every minute of his team wearing a Leeds jersey and if a move to Barcelona falls through, he may decide to extend his stay at Elland Road for another season.
Victor Orta and co. do not appear interested in reducing their valuation of the player so the Spanish side will have to pay up or end up missing out on their prime target’s services.
In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
