Farke sack chatter at Leeds United halted by barking dog live on Sky Sports
Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United looks to be finally settled after weeks of speculation.
Despite guiding the Yorkshire club to promotion, Farke was reportedly set for the sack at Leeds.
Concerns over his Premier League record were at the forefront of the conversation after being relegated with Norwich City twice.
However, Paraag Marathe has since backed Farke and halted the speculation over his future for the moment.

David Prutton backs Farke to succeed in the Premier League
Now that Leeds have lifted the Championship title, there seems to be more direction around the club.
Staying in the Premier League next season is no doubt going to be a mammoth task, but it is one that the Yorkshire side can achieve.
With Farke now likely to stay at Leeds throughout the summer, David Prutton was pleased with the news stating that the German has done a ‘phenomenal job’.
But when discussing Leeds and Farke on Sky Sports, Prutton was interrupted by his barking dog in a comedic exchange live on TV.
Prutton told Sky Sports News (6 May): “Sorry, I could hear the dog barking… Yeah, there was speculation about Daniel Farke. She’s obviously a Daniel Farke fan as well.”
EFL expert Prutton then broke off again before adding: “Can you hear a word I’m saying?”
Prutton was eventually able to get a word or two in as he said: “I think he deserves his chance, Daniel. He’s done a phenomenal job with an attacking team.
“That parade yesterday was wonderful. Leeds fans will know it’s not plain sailing, but they’ll have money to spend and now have the ability to move forward.”

Farke will have a limited time to deliver results in Premier League
While Leeds have now confirmed that Farke is their man for the new campaign, he will still be immediately under pressure.
It is clear that both the board and the fans have concerns over his record in the Premier League, and both could turn on him if the opening results are not good.
Daniel Farke’s Premier League record | |
Games managed | 49 |
Wins | 6 |
Draws | 8 |
Losses | 35 |
Therefore, it is obvious that Farke will have limited time to show that he can succeed in the English top-flight, or he risks the sack.
While this may be unfair on Farke given the current campaign, the Premier League is ruthless, and sometimes it is beneficial to go down this route.
Survival is highly important, as relegation risks Leeds going backwards once again.
