Farke must make Joe Rothwell change amid injury blow – Leeds predicted XI v Sunderland
Daniel Farke may make just one change to the Leeds United starting XI for their trip to face Sunderland on Friday 4 October.
The Whites will be keen to return to winning ways at the first attempt after a frustrating 1-1 draw against Norwich City on Tuesday (1 October).
A goal from Largie Ramazani was enough to secure a point at Carrow Road after Joe Rodon gave away an early penalty which Josh Sargent scored.
Farke will have been left more frustrated by a fresh injury concern after Ilia Gruev was forced off in the first half against the Canaries.
Leeds United could make one change v Sunderland
Ethan Ampadu was forced off at Elland Road against Coventry City and despite being positive in the changing room after, the captain is going to be absent for a while.
As a result, the last thing that the Whites would have wanted is to see his Bulgarian midfield partner last just 20 minutes before coming off due to his own injury concern.
Joe Rothwell replaced him at Carrow Road and it is likely that the Bournemouth loanee will grab a starting place against Sunderland.
This comes after a solid midfield showing from the 29-year-old against Norwich as he helped keep Leeds ticking throughout the clash.

The Englishman’s first Championship start for the Whites could be the only change made by Farke, one which he is potentially being forced into due to injury.
Apart from Gruev dropping out, it doesn’t seem necessary for any other changes to be made even if the likes of Mateo Joseph had a quiet night in midweek.
