Farke could help Leeds earn Premier League survival next term amid Solomon news

Manor Solomon has been a shining light in a Leeds United side that has dazzled in the Championship this season.

The Whites have been best team in the Championship this term with plenty of their players genuine contenders for the second-tier’s team of the season.

Players such as Dan James and Ao Tanaka have been some of the stand-out performers to have emerged from Elland Road in the 2024/25 campaign and are two of the main reasons why they are five points clear at the top of the table.

However, even though most of the West Yorkshire outfit’s first-team players are owned by the club, Solomon isn’t one of them.

The Israel international is on a season-long loan from Tottenham and has quickly become one of Farke’s most important players.

So, it’s not all that much of a surprise to see rumours being shared about where the attacker’s future could potentially lie.

Fabrizio Romano believes Leeds want to sign Solomon permanently

In the 2024/25 campaign alone, Solomon has contributed to 14 Championship goals in just 27 games.

He’s managed to knock Willy Gnonto out of his starting spot for most of the term with Farke showing no signs of going back to starting the Italy international any time soon.

A recent report from Fabrizio Romano (26 February) has shared that while the interest on Leeds’ side of things is “absolutely there“, some of the finer details still need to be ironed out.

The report adds that in order for the attacker to even consider making his Elland Road stay permanent, Farke’s men would have to earn promotion to the top flight.

At the moment, however, talks are not “advanced” or “concrete”, despite the form he’s been in whilst plying his trade for the West Yorkshire outfit.

Solomon could help guarantee Leeds’ Premier League safety

One of the main problems that promoted sides have faced when making the step up to the Championship is ensuring that they’re competitive with the other teams in the division.

While there has been the odd case of survival here and there with teams such as Fulham, Brentford and Nottingham Forest all managing to stay up, more often than not, the promoted teams end up being yo-yo clubs.

Take the 2024/25 season for example, the bottom three spots in the top flight are occupied by teams who were among the most dominant in the Championship last season.

In fact, Southampton are so far off it that they look to be on course to break the record for the worst points return in Premier League history.

The Gap between the two divisions has never been as big and even if Simon Jordan believes that Leeds will have what it takes, signing Solomon could be key to ensuring that they do just that.
