Fabrizio Romano shares what he knows about Leeds United and Mauricio Pochettino amid speculation
Fabrizio Romano shared on Caughtoffiside on Sunday morning (12 February) that he is unaware of Mauricio Pochettino being in contact with Leeds United to become their next manager.
La Nación journalist Claudio Mauri reported on 10 February that the Whites have tabled an offer to Pochettino, 50, as the club look to find a replacement for Jesse Marsch.
The Whites have seen approaches for Carlos Corberan and Andoni Iraola knocked back in recent weeks and could miss out on Pochettino who is currently waiting for different kinds of projects.
“Despite some speculation, I’m not aware of Mauricio Pochettino being in contact with Leeds. They know he’s waiting for different kind of club with different ambitions,” wrote Romano for Caughtoffside.
Moving on
The Whites are waiting to make the right appointment but they should be aiming to bring someone before their next match against Everton.

Pochettino has been out of work for a while but he keeps on turning away Premier League jobs available to him. He would have been a fantastic appointment but it looks unlikely that the Argentine would be willing to join them.
Leeds have shown ambition in the transfer market and the club have got strong facilities in place as well that should attract the former Tottenham manager.
However, as it stands, the hunt for the manager appears to be stalling. Corberan is settled in his role at West Bromwich Albion while Iraola won’t be leaving Rayo Vallecano. Feyenoord boss Arne Slot is another candidate but he has made it clear that he won’t leave now.
Former River Plate boss Marcelo Gallardo can be another option for the Whites and he would be a good fit at Elland Road as well, but doubts again whether he could be lured at Elland Road.
