Fabrizio Romano shares Leeds United transfer update as Georginio Rutter to jet in for medical

Leeds United are reportedly exchanging the documents as they look to finalise the transfer of Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter.

According to Sky Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, there has been an agreement over an initial £25million fee which would rise up to £35million with add-ons.

The 20-year-old can travel for his medical on Thursday, 12 January and complete everything that’s needed before his official announcement.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Georginio Rutter to Leeds United, here we go! Leeds are finally exchanging the documents with Hoffenheim for €28m fixed fee plus add-ons close to €40m total package.

“Understand player can travel to Leeds tonight for medical tests and then sign the long term contract.”

Excitement building

Rutter now looks set to be a Leeds player and there is excitement building over what is to come at Elland Road in the coming months.

He comes with a hefty price tag but the clug surely would not have paid that kind of money if they felt he wasn’t the real deal.

It’s now on him to deliver the goods but we’re sure that he will live up to his expectations and become a game changer at Leeds.

Jesse Marsch has been backed to the T this January and that’s something which wasn’t the case with Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds have always tended to go easy on January signings but they’ve smashed their transfer record this time around and it remains to be seen how that turns out

Marsch knows that if he fails to get the right results, the board could end up replacing him in a heartbeat and that’s not something he would want after getting in most of his desired players.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has dropped a major update on World Cup star Azzedinie Ounahi’s potential January move to Elland Road.
