Fabrizio Romano shares if Leeds United winger Raphinha will join Manchester United

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Manchester United are currently not negotiating for Leeds United winger Raphinha.

The transfer guru, while speaking to Rio Ferdinand Presents Five, has said that Liverpool and Barcelona are leading the chase at the moment.

If Leeds drop down to the Championship this season, Raphinha’s price would drop down to £25m, and it could open up a lot of options for the Brazilian.

Leeds United

Romano said: “Let’s see, I’ll keep it open. At the moment they [Manchester United] are not negotiating for Raphinha but he will be available on the market.

“It’s important to see if Leeds will get relegated or not, because it depends on clauses. In case they get relegated, there will be some interesting clauses for Raphinha – it’s around £25 million.

“Liverpool are exploring this possibility. His agent is Deco, former midfielder of Barcelona. He has a fantastic relationship with Juan Laporta. He already discussed with Barcelona about Raphinha.”

Interesting

According to The Guardian, Leeds rejected a big-money offer from West Ham for Raphinha in the January transfer window.

The Hammers could also be monitoring his progress, in case Leeds get relegated.

He will have no shortage of suitors in that case, and at £25m million, it’s a bargain deal for a player like Raphinha.

Leeds United

The Brazilian has been outstanding for the Whites this season. He has scored nine goals and provided three assists in the Premier League already, but his contribution to the side goes beyond that.

At 25, he is reaching the peak of his career, and it will be really interesting to see if Leeds can hold on to their star player.

Liverpool could be really interested if they fail to reach a contract agreement for Mohamed Salah.

Jesse Marsch has said today (17 March) that he wants to keep Raphinha [Leeds Live] with him for a long period of time, but come summer, the picture could be a lot different.

In other Leeds United news, one ex-White has suggested that some players will have been “delighted” that Bielsa left.
