Fabrizio Romano: Leeds United still waiting for official Barcelona proposal for Raphinha

Leeds United are stuck in limbo as they still wait for Barcelona to make their official proposal for Raphinha, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The reliable journalist has reported that the Spanish club have verbally improved their bid to a total package of £60.8million, with the winger now pushing for the move.

It comes after SPORT reported in the past 48 hours that a deal was done and the announcement could be in a matter of hours, although it has been days since.

Writing on his official Twitter account, Romano shared the latest news with the deal looking as though it is currently being held up at a critical stage.

“Raphinha situation. Leeds are still waiting for Barcelona to submit the official proposal after the verbal bid improved on Sunday night: €72m [£60.8m] total package,” he wrote.

“It’s the final but key step.

“Raphinha, optimistic – he has been pushing during the weekend.”

Get it done.

It is time for this saga to officially end, we are all surely fed up.

Barcelona have verbally agreed to that package, so now it is time to pay up and move, and more importantly, stop playing these stupid games after months of negotiating.

Leeds have got them to back down and pay up finally, and the likes of Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear have to be commended for that as they prepare to bring in a record sale to the club.

The Whites have striker targets of their own to go after, and some of them require the Raphinha money so that another incoming record can be smashed.

Right now, the club are in a state of limbo.

They know who they want to buy, Charles De Ketelere of Club Brugges, but they need the money to go big and beat AC Milan to his signature if they can.

Let’s get this one over and done with.
