Fabrizio Romano: Leeds United monitoring Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere
Leeds United are monitoring Club Brugge’s Belgium attacker Charles De Ketelaere in preparation for Raphinha leaving the club, according to The Guardian’s Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday 22 June, that the 21-year-old is one of the options Leeds are keeping tabs on, with AC Milan also holding a long-time interest in the Club Brugge man.
De Ketelaere notched 14 goals and seven assists in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League in the 2021/22 campaign and has two years left on his current contract.
Orta doesn’t muck about
Whether this is the club hierarchy preparing for Raphinha’s potential departure or not, there has been no hesitation in Leeds United’s transfer business thus far.
It is superb to see the amount of work that is constantly going on to prevent the Whites from facing another relegation battle.
It is pretty clear that Raphinha is most likely on his way out of Elland Road with The Athletic reporting on Wednesday 22 June that the Whites have rejected a bid from Arsenal for the 25-year-old.
Regardless of the bid being rejected, it is highly likely that another, more substantial bid, will come in for the winger.
However, even if Raphinha does depart Elland Road, there is a good chance that Leeds would have already acquired targets to improve Jesse Marsch’s side or have potential signings in the pipeline.
At present, the Yorkshire side are leaving their rivals far behind in terms of their summer recruitment and there is some genuine optimism growing for the 2022/23 season.
In other Leeds United news, a title-winning midfielder has liked messages from Leeds fans saying he should move to Elland Road this summer.
