Fabrizio Romano hints at Leeds United potential move for RB Leipzig ace Tyler Adams

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has hinted that Leeds United might make a move for German club RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams.

The Whites managed to secure their place in the Premier League after last round’s win against Brentford.

Talking about Leeds’ transfer policy in the summer, Romano believes that a potential reunion between manager Jesse Marsch and USA international Tyler Adams is on the cards. However, he also admitted that there have been no contact made between the clubs.

“Why not? His [Adams] relationship with Marsch is great,” he said while talking on the Que Golazo Podcast (23 May) when asked about Adams and Leeds.

“There are no negotiations between the two clubs at the moment, but we know that the relationship is great and that it could be a really interesting opportunity.

“Leeds need to understand what they want to do with Phillips because he’s on the list of many top clubs, so let’s see what happens with Phillips and then we will understand if they jump into this Tyler Adams opportunity or not.”

Major revamp

The Whites have barely survived to play in the Premier League for the third season in a row, thanks to an injury-time victory courtesy of Raphinha and Jack Harrison’s goals.

The all-important finishing touches to a season will live long in the memory of Leeds fans and the final day drama at Brentford will be even harder to forget.

There are some changes expected within the squad as Leeds are expected to make a call on star midfielder Phillips’ future before making any sort of move.

Adams can be termed as a potential replacement if the 26-year-old — who has been attracting interest from a number of clubs in England — leaves the club in the summer.

The American midfielder has good relationship with Marsch and both know each other well from their time together at New York Red Bulls and RB Leipzig.

He’s not the only American linked with the Whites with Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg claiming that a deal is close to completion for Red Bull Salzburg and USA midfielder Brenden Aaronson.

Under the management of Marsch, who joined the club in February this year, Leeds played 12 games where they won four and suffered defeats in five whereas three games ended in a stalemate.

In Leeds United news, an under-the-radar court case involving the transfer of a Leeds player has reached its conclusion with the final payout revealed.
