Ex-Leeds United player suggests Crysencio Summerville lied about him in official podcast
Lee Peltier has suggested Crysencio Summerville lied about him after what he said following the Leeds United draw against Rotherham United on 24 November.
Speaking on the club’s official podcast on Monday (11 December), the Dutchman claimed he told the ex-Whites defender “you can’t keep up with me” after he took the ball past him and had a chance on goal, leaving the Millers player behind holding his hamstring.
Responding to the 22-year-old’s comments on Twitter on Tuesday (12 December), the 37-year-old said the winger “deffo didn’t” say that to him when the sides drew 1-1 at The New York Stadium.
Speaking on the podcast, Summerville said: “When a player starts to kick me, I know he’s lost it. Normally, I’m quiet because I respect everyone. But I have to say against Rotherham, the right-back was annoying me. He did too much.
“One time I was running, left him behind, he grabbed his hamstring. I had a chance. I walked back and said, ‘you can’t keep up with me, it’s alright bro’. I was in his head. That’s only if they go too far.”
Peltier responded by saying: “Good player, well done bud. But deffo didn’t say that to me.”
Bizarre
This is quite a bizarre incident because clearly both players have quite a different view on what went on between them during the game.
Summerville had another impressive outing against Rotherham after handing Leeds an early lead before they were pegged back later on in the first half.
The Dutchman gave Peltier a pretty tough evening and, in fairness to the defender, he praised him after admitting that he is a “good player”.

But that is as far as the former Whites man is prepared to go as he seems pretty adamant that the winger didn’t say what he claims to have said to him.
It could be that he did and Peltier didn’t hear it, but no one is ever going to really know what went on as the players are unlikely to agree on what happened.
In other Leeds United news, a journalist believes the Whites fans will be happy to see one player exit Elland Road in January.
