Everything we know about Daniel Farke’s contract situation as Leeds United talks postponed
Daniel Farke is facing some uncertainty at Leeds United once again.
Things looked to be running smoothly for the German in the Premier League with 10 games remaining.
The atmosphere around Elland Road has changed somewhat within the past week after back-to-back home defeats.
The Whites fell to a narrow loss against Manchester City before going on to taste defeat against Sunderland on Tuesday.
That has put a stop to any contract negotiations for Farke, as MOT Leeds News rounds up what we know about his current deal.
Daniel Farke new contract talks called off
There is no doubt that the 49-year-old has proven plenty of people wrong after calls for the head coach to be sacked before the season began.
Despite winning promotion from the Championship, there were reports that the LS11 hierarchy could look to bring in a more experienced manager at the top level.
That didn’t happen, and the Whites now sit six points clear of the bottom three, but the Sunderland defeat has still raised concerns.

A Wednesday report from the Mirror has suggested that Leeds have now postponed contract talks with Farke until the end of the season.
The former Norwich City boss wants to stick around in Yorkshire no matter what happens across the rest of the season and was hopeful of talks about a new deal.
Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe and major investor Pete Lowy held discussions after the Elland Road loss on Tuesday, and now the head coach’s future won’t be decided until the summer.
What is Farke’s current contract at Leeds United?
There is no real surprise that pressure is building on the manager after a run of just two Premier League wins in 13 games.
That has put talks on hold, and that will surely worry Farke as he approaches the expiry of his current contract at the end of the season.
The summer will mark the end of his deal, and he will be waiting on negotiations when Leeds face West Ham on the final day of the campaign.
He is said to be on a yearly salary of £2million in Yorkshire, which ranks towards the reported wages of other Premier League bosses.
Premier League manager yearly wages:
- Keith Andrews – £1.3m
- Andoni Iraola – £1.5m
- Rob Edwards – £1.5m
- Scott Parker – £1.6m
- Daniel Farke – £2m
It would certainly be interesting to see if the Whites’ form takes an upturn in the final months of the campaign.
If it doesn’t, there is every chance that the Leeds hierarchy opt to bring a new head coach in over the summer.
