Everything the Welsh media has said about Leeds United star Joe Rodon vs Belgium

Leeds United are preparing for a huge clash with Burnley on Saturday.

Daniel Farke hopes to keep Leeds in the Premier League and will have a massive selection decision for Saturday’s game.

Leeds are predicted to survive Premier League relegation; however, they currently sit 15th in the table, as the Whites push to add to their tally of eight points.

Farke has had top performers this season, like Noah Okafor, but Joe Rodon has also impressed for Leeds.

The Welsh media have delivered their honest verdict on Rodon’s performance against Belgium on Monday night, in the disappointing 4-2 defeat.

Welsh media see Joe Rodon as ‘consistent’

In what has been an overall disappointing couple of weeks away with Wales for Rodon, he can still hold his head up high.

Rodon’s Wales were defeated 4-2 by Belgium on 13 October, as his nation is now at risk of missing out on World Cup qualification.

The Leeds defender opened up the scoring for his country, but was “powerless” for Belgium’s four goals.

Clwb Pêl-droed (Football Club of Wales) commented, “Rodon once again proved to be the most consistent defender in Bellamy’s back line, opening the scoring with a well-taken header and delivering a solid defensive display featuring several crucial blocks and clearances,” as the Leeds man earned a six rating.

Wales Online also gave Rodon a respectable six despite conceding four goals and said, “Great header for the goal, but was powerless to prevent the Belgian onslaught.”

Rodon’s consistent displays at club and international level have effectively removed any doubt for Farke in his defensive choices.

Joe Rodon is the first name on Leeds’ teamsheet

Rodon featured in every single game for Leeds in the Championship last campaign and was pivotal for the Whites’ promotion.

So far this season, he has started in all seven of Leeds’ Premier League games and is emerging as the easiest pick on a matchday.

If Leeds are to stay up this season, they need their centre-backs to be at the top of their game, as Rodon will do everything in his power to keep his side in the promised land.
