Everything Daniel Farke has said about battle to keep Leeds in Premier League
Leeds have had a mixed start to the Premier League season.
Daniel Farke’s side have gathered four points from their opening four games and sit 16th in the table
Leeds travel to Molineux this weekend as they face bottom-of-the-table Wolves in what could be an early relegation six-pointer.
Farke’s are underdogs heading into the fixture, but will want to put down a marker against potential relegation rivals.
Leeds will face an uphill battle to stay up this season, but judging by the manager’s words pre-season, fans will be encouraged that they can.

Daniel Farke ready for ‘next step’ with Leeds
Farke was reportedly in line to be sacked during the summer, but the 49ers opted to stick by the manager.
Farke has a poor record in the Premier League but is determined to keep his side in the division this campaign.
The German set out his ambitions for the club before the season started, insisting that Leeds are back in their rightful place: “I want to leave this club in a better place than when I arrived. I’m just focused on taking the next step for Leeds United.
“I want to keep this club in the promised land. It’s a club which belongs in the Premier League. The fanbase is second to none.”
He was also insistent that there wouldn’t be a change of style at Elland Road: “We won’t sell our DNA in the Premier League this season and park the bus. If you just try to defend for 96 minutes or whatever, you have no chance to survive there.”
He also took lessons from his previous spells in management, particularly his last job in the Bundesliga: “What is necessary to finish mid-table in the top flight, this is what I learned in Gladbach”.
Whether Farke can deliver on these words remains to be seen, but supporters will have liked what they have heard.

Leeds must get a result against Wolves
Leeds need a positive result on Saturday if they are to ease the pressure on the manager and deliver on his pre-season words.
Farke has some big calls to make in his starting team, as they look for their first win since the opening day.
Leeds have struggled in attack, but will be confident that they can cause issues for bottom-placed Wolves.
Season Stats | Leeds |
Goals per match | 0.3 |
Big chances created | 5 |
Expected goals (xG) | 3.8 |
Farke will want a win if he is to give himself some breathing room as manager, and hopefully kickstart Leeds’ Premier League campaign.
