Every word Wayne Rooney said about Wolves vs Leeds on Match of the Day
Leeds United picked up their first away win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday.
Some labelled the trip to Molineux a must-win for Leeds, with Wolves failing to pick up any points in their first four opening matches.
However, after the hosts went 1-0 up inside the opening ten minutes, Daniel Farke’s side looked to be dead and buried, considering the trouble they have had scoring so far this season.
But three goals from three of the Whites’ summer signings ensured a remarkable turnaround, with Anton Stach’s stunning free-kick being the pick of the bunch as Wayne Rooney reacted to the game on Match of the Day.

‘There will be pressure’ on Wolves, says Wayne Rooney
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor were also on the scoresheet, with Okafor’s dribbling abilities in particular catching the eye as the winger had his best game so far in a Leeds shirt.
After United’s massive away win, there is no doubt that Wolves will be involved in a relegation battle alongside the Whites this season.
Former Manchester United player Rooney believes that while Vitor Pereira hasn’t been helped by major sales and injury issues, Wolves have to start getting points on the board sooner rather than later.
“There will be pressure, of course, they’ve got no points in their first five games, and there’s clearly a lack of confidence with the team,” said Rooney on Match of the Day.
“They lost [Matheus] Cunha, [Jorgen] Strand Larsen’s been out injured, so they need him back quickly, and they’ve got quite a few new players in there.
“I think the fans will force that pressure if they don’t pick up points soon, but they need to start picking up points and try to get their season started.”

Pressure ramping up on Wolves works in Leeds’ favour
If Leeds want to avoid the drop, they have to ensure one of the already established Premier League clubs is drawn into a relegation battle alongside the newly promoted teams.
Leeds’ win against Wolves all but confirms this, and the pressure and toxicity around Wolves at the moment will only benefit Farke’s men.
West Ham are another side that look as though they will be in and around the relegation zone come the end of the season, which is yet another boost to Leeds’ survival hopes.
With Leeds returning to Elland Road for their next two fixtures against Bournemouth and Tottenham, the Whites have a chance to distance themselves from the bottom three even further if they can pick up a positive result in at least one of those matches.
