Everton now in talks to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United as fresh transfer twist emerges

Everton are now in talks to sign Jack Harrison from Leeds United with their interest at a “very advanced” stage, according to Paul Joyce.

The Times journalist reported on Twitter on Sunday (13 August) that, the Toffees now have their sights set on Harrison, 26, amid attempts to also sign Willy Gnonto.

The 19-year-old Italy international hasn’t played for Leeds in the last two games as he’s reportedly refused to be involved because he’s pushing for a move to Goodison Park [iNews].

ElBobble, an Everton insider who has previously been credited for stories by Joyce and Fabrizio Romano, claims talks are underway.

Chaos

Everton are really trying to miss with Leeds right now but it’s unbelievable that any player would want to join them.

Yes, we’re in the Championship and they are in the Premier League but Everton have been a club in chaos for years now with their fans at odds with the board and the players.

This weekend, we’ve seen Everton come out to condemn abuse being aimed at Neal Maupay for his performance against Fulham on Saturday (12 August) while last term, there was footage of fans having a go at players as they battled against relegation.

It’s a toxic place to be and we get that Leeds aren’t much better right now but at least here, the fans will be on your side if you’re giving your all and promotion is more than likely on the cards.

Harrison hasn’t played yet this season due to injury but if he was to stay at Leeds, he’d no doubt be a player of the season contender.

He’s too good for this level and we get why he’d want to return to the Premier League but a move to Goodison Park would be detrimental to his career.

Joining a team like Bournemouth, Brentford or Brighton – maybe even Luton – would be a much better option, such is the state of Everton.
