Ethan Ampadu sends message after Leeds United loss v AS Monaco

Ethan Ampadu has sent a message to the Leeds United fans after the pre-season game against AS Monaco on Saturday, 22 July.

The summer signing from Chelsea thanked the supporters for cheering the side on in their 2-0 defeat against the Ligue 1 club.

The 22-year-old started the game and was deployed in a midfield role by Daniel Farke.

Via Twitter, Ampadu wrote, “Thank you for the support today.”

Good signing

There were positive signs from his performance today and the more he plays for the Whites, the sharper he’ll get.

Nobody expected them to play a side like Monaco off the park and there were moments to be proud of for Leeds.

Farke will certainly look to focus on the positives and he will be happy with the signing of Ampadu.

Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper started at the heart of their defence but the Welshman can very well be deployed in that role as well.

Both Cooper and Struijk had injury issues last season and it’s good to know that a reliable backup is there in the 22-year-old.

Hopefully, they do sign an out-and-out centre-back that can be a regular starter as they do need that kind of player, given the exits and more players potentially leaving.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites have agreed on personal terms to secure their next signing after Ethan Ampadu.
