ESPN commentator in awe of 'fabulous' Jack Harrison moment in Leeds United v Wolves

ESPN commentator Gary Taphouse was left in awe of a “fabulous” moment from Jack Harrison in the first half of Leeds United v Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Whites had an explosive start to the game, with a number of corners but came closest to scoring in the 3rd minute through a free kick from Harrison.

Wolves keeper Matija Šarkić looked to have gone the wrong way at first but adjusted his body “brilliantly” to prevent Leeds from taking the lead, a moment which Taphouse was full of praise for.

He said on ESPN’s commentary of the fixture (19:48, 9 November): “It’s a fabulous strike from Jack Harrison, and Matija Šarkić has flung himself to the right after starting to go to the left and had adjusted his body quite brilliantly to tip that away for a corner.”

Take it seriously

Despite making a number of changes to his lineup, Jesse Marsch is fortunate to have a number of superb youth products to call upon. The League Cup won’t be too high up on Marsch’s priorities, but cup competitions can often be an excellent way to build form and give his squad a full run out.

A League Cup run would be welcomed by the Elland Road faithful who have been starved of a major trophy for far too long. As for Harrison, it’s crucial he takes opportunities such as this to show he is still one of Leeds’ most important attacking outlets.

The 25-year-old has endured a tough time of late, but he still possesses an immense quality which will be vital for Leeds if they wish to pull further away from the relegation zone.

Marsch should certainly take heart from the performances of Mateo Joseph, Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins, with the youth trio looking completely at home in the first eleven.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could now be looking to sign an award-winning Ligue 1 ace and bring him to Elland Road in January.
