‘Intense’, ‘Entertaining’ – Ally McCoist and Jamie O’Hara gush over senior Leeds man

talkSPORT had a Marcelo Bielsa love-in on Tuesday morning on the Breakfast show (Tuesday, 9am).

It started when host Laura Woods said she was going to buy Marcelo Bielsa’s book and admitted she was a massive fan of the Leeds manager.

Former Tottenham star Jamie O’Hara said, “Well, I’m watching the Leeds documentary on Amazon and I’m loving his style and how he is as a manager. He’s intense. He’s like Pep Guardiola. I really like him, I think he’s bang on as a manager.”

Ally McCoist was asked about the Spygate scandal (the story that will never die!) and he said, “I like him. He’s a great manager. I don’t think there’s any getting away from that.

“He’s different, he’s well respected. He didn’t do anything wrong when he was watching that training session. He didn’t break any laws. Did you he cross a moral line? I don’t know. I didn’t have a problem with it.

“Guys like that that come into the game can only be good for the game. He’s entertaining, he’s bright, he’s different. He gives us something to talk about.”

Bielsa has transformed Leeds

Bielsa has completely transformed Leeds since he arrived almost two years ago.

He almost got Leeds promoted in season one and would probably be celebrating promotion at his second attempt were it not for the Coronavirus outbreak.

He shook the game up last season when he admitted watching other teams train and then went on to inspire his team to the FIFA Fair Play award.

The Leeds fans absolutely adore him and are desperate to get at least one season with him in the Premier League.

He’s won pretty much everyone over after the Spygate scandal split public opinion and you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone with a bad word to say against him now – comparisons with Pep Guardiola are justified.

As a man who lives for football, he’ll be hating the lockdown more than anyone at the moment.

He’s still in his flat in Wetherby, monitoring the players remotely and helping to ensure Leeds are ready to go when the 19/20 season re-starts – which we’re sure it will.
