‘Embarrassing’, ‘Villa fans on strings’ – Some Leeds fans react to Adrian Durham hypocrisy tweet

Leeds United and Aston Villa fans have been involved in a bit of a spat ever since the mad events that transpired when the two sides met last season.

Marcelo Bielsa ordered his side to let Villa score after Mateusz Klich scored while a Villa player was rolling around on the floor as though he was actually injured.

It was a gesture that led to Leeds winning a FIFA Fair Play award but most fans agree that Bielsa should not have let Villa score.

On Wednesday night, Aston Villa drew 0-0 with Sheffield United but the Blades should have been awarded a goal when Orjan Nyland carried the ball across his own goal line and Hawkeye technology was not working.

Sheffield United should have won and Villa should have let them have a goal. Bielsa would have done that, anyway.

Leeds’ official Twitter account hit out at Villa for not letting the Blades have a goal and that was followed by talkSPORT host Adrian Durham also joining in with the Villa pile-on, saying that it is “hypocrisy” from the Midlands club.

A group of Leeds fans flocked to Durham’s explosive tweet to agree with the radio host and lay into Aston Villa for not showing the same courtesy their club did last season.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Villa won a point because Hawkeye wasn’t working and Sheffield United lost two.

Imagine if Villa avoid relegation by one point or the Blades miss out on Europe by two points? We could see lawsuits getting filed left, right and centre against Hawkeye and the Premier League.

At least Leeds aren’t involved in this controversy but you’re never too far away from linking the Whites to stories like this.

In other Leeds United news, two changes are predicted for Leeds’ team against Cardiff.
