Elland Road claim made as Leeds United set to be taken over by San Francisco 49ers with Andrea Radrizzani agreeing terms

The details for the Leeds United takeover have been sent to the EFL to verify as Andrea Radrizzani has agreed to the terms of a complete sale.

According to the Daily Mail [06 June], the deal includes the ownership of Elland Road, despite the Italian offering the ground as security for a loan to buy Sampdoria.

The Premier League has already given its approval and it’s now for the EFL to do the same before the deal goes ahead.

Good news

Radrizzani used Elland Road like it was his personal asset and not the ground that the team he owns has been playing on for years.

Without the stadium, Leeds are homeless and failure to repay certain loans would’ve seen the stadium being disputed by the bank.

It’s good to see that it did not happen and now the San Francisco 49ers will be taking over the stadium too as it’s been included as part of the deal.

Hopefully, this eschews an era of positive change at the club as all of the good work Marcel Bielsa put in has now gone in vain.

Leeds are virtually back to where they were before he took over and it’s not the position they would’ve wanted to be in after he guided them to a top-half Premier League finish.

There needs to be change at all levels and Angus Kinnear must also be shown the door as a complete change of guard is needed.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that a Whites senior player is now set to leave the club at a discounted fee post relegation and will not be signing a new contract.
