‘EFL are a joke’, ‘It’s rigged’ – Many Leeds & West Brom fans notice something about Sky Sports

Leeds United and West Brom fans have noticed a bit of a trend with Sky Sports’ scheduling which is deemed to give Brentford an advantage in the promotion race.

Brentford beat Charlton on Tuesday night, 24 hours before West Brom play Derby and 48 hours before Leeds welcome Stoke to Elland Road.

It is not the first time since the Championship season restarted that games have been moved around by Sky Sports so that the Whites play after the Bees.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side played Cardiff a day after Brentford won at Fulham on the day the season resumed.

Thomas Frank’s men then beat West Brom on Friday, June 26. Leeds met Fulham the day after.

Brentford then played Reading on the following Tuesday, kicking off a couple of hours before Leeds took on Luton.

Since the season restarted, Brentford have played all but one of their matches before Leeds and some fans have had enough of seeing the London club being handed what they deem to be an advantage by getting points on the board before Bielsa’s side has the chance to.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Even some supporters of second-placed West Brom have their gripes with Sky Sports and the EFL for scheduling Brentford to play before them.

It is hard not to notice something like this, especially when there is so much to play for at the top of the Championship table.

No one wants to see any side being handed an advantage, especially by Sky Sports.

Bielsa’s men should not be bothered by something like this and it is unlikely that this is the reason why Brentford are doing so well since the restart but for once, it would be nice to see us open up a big gap on them before they get to play.
