Eddie Nketiah shows what Leeds are missing on int’l duty
Leeds striker Eddie Nketiah showed off a quick highlight reel of his skills in a recent training session with the England Under-21 side.
And it’s more ammunition for the legion of fans who think that he should be starting for their club.
Leeds have slipped to fifth in the table and have only scored 15 goals in the league – the fewest of any team in the top nine.
According to WyScout, their total xG for the season is over 23 and anywhere near that number would see Leeds at the top of the table – probably by some clear margin.
In Nketiah, Leeds have got a natural goal-scorer and he was keen to remind manager Marcelo Bielsa what he can do from his international camp.
First, he dribbled round a couple of players before burying the ball. Then he curled a shot into the top-right corner of the net, before burying two more shots on the run with pinpoint accuracy.
If there’s one criticism you can level at Bielsa it’s that he’s very rigid with his team selections. Things aren’t working out at the moment and he has a very viable alternative ready and waiting.
