Eddie Gray shares new Daniel Farke verdict at Leeds United after what he saw at Thorp Arch

Eddie Gray has gushed over Daniel Farke after what he saw when visiting Thorp Arch as he was left impressed by what the Leeds United boss does in training.

The Elland Road legend insisted that Farke has done a “tremendous” job since arriving last summer with Leeds challenging for automatic promotion from the Championship.

It was explained that the boss does not take any nonsense in training and works hard himself, something the players have responded well to.

Speaking live on talkSPORT [23 April, 07:40], Gray explained: “I think he’s done tremendously. I’ve been up to the training ground and watched a few sessions, he doesn’t stand for any nonsense.

“He knows the game, his suggestions are good and he works hard himself, the players respond to that.”

Daniel Farke spearheads Leeds United promotion push

When he took over at Elland Road following the club’s relegation last season, Farke was given one target – to get Leeds back to where they belong, playing in the Premier League. As it stands, he has given them the best opportunity.

Despite a dip in form of late with a 2-1 loss to Coventry followed up by a 0-0 draw with Sunderland and a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn, Leeds bounced back with a 4-3 win against Middlesbrough to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive.

With one more game played than both Ipswich and Leicester, Leeds sits one point behind the league-leading Foxes and one point above the chasing pack and will have to hope results elsewhere go their way to remain in an automatic promotion place.

Should Leicester win against Southampton on 23 April, they will almost have the title sewn up unless a dramatic twist takes place, leaving the final spot up for grabs between Leeds and Ipswich. It seems Farke is the man to give Leeds the best chance of securing that place.
