Eddie Gray shares Farke sack verdict after what he’s seen at Leeds United

Leeds United were in fine form again on Monday as they beat Bristol City 4-0, boosting their chances of going to the Premier League as champions.

Achieving promotion to the top flight is the main thing, although beating Scott Parker’s men to the top spot would certainly be a bonus.

Although Daniel Farke has achieved his aims for the campaign, there have already been suggestions that the 49ers Enterprises are considering parting ways with the German due to anxiety over his previous top-flight form.

Eddie Gray moots Farke sack at Leeds United

With Ipswich’s relegation from the Premier League now confirmed, there is increased pressure on the promoted teams to break the pattern and retain their positions at the top.

Therefore, Farke’s previous Premier League form has raised some concerns in West Yorkshire that he may not be up to the job that lies ahead.

That being said, given the boss has earned his position at the top, having put together a strong squad this term, there are some suggestions that letting him go would be a slap in the face.

Leeds have been strong in the Championship.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (29 April, 7:41am), Eddie Gray admitted he was outraged at the suggestions as he said: “I just can’t understand it.

“I mean, you bring a manager in to get you promotion, he gets you promotion and they’re talking about his job.

“I’d be very surprised if Daniel wasn’t at the club next season, but we’ll wait and see – strange things happen in the game.

“He’s done tremendous with the club. He’s done the job he was brought in to do, to get the club back in the Premier League and all credit to him and his staff.”

Leeds have massive Farke decision ahead

You can understand why Leeds are questioning things. They have to be able to go up and survive at the top and if they go into the league with the wrong man, it will seriously set them back in their quest.

That being said, Farke has done exactly what was asked of him at Leeds this term and has also built a strong Leeds squad that he could surely build upon and take forward.

If Leeds are going to find a replacement, it will have to be a change for someone who would significantly improve them, having shown previous ability in the Premier League.

However, with links to the likes of Russell Martin, the West Yorkshire outfit have to be urged not to make a rash decision that could potentially take them no further.

If the owners decide to keep Farke in his role, they will have to provide him with some financial backing to ensure that he can make the necessary additions to his squad too.
