Eddie Gray delivers verdict on Jesse Marsch and Leeds United survival hopes – ‘I have seen enough’
Leeds United legend Eddie Gray has commented on Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch and the club’s poor form in the Premier League.
Since thumping Chelsea at Elland Road in August, Leeds United have failed to pick up three points in the Premier League, leaving them with two points from their last five games.
The latest disappointment came against Crystal Palace, where Jesse Marsch’s side threw away a lead to lose 2-1. With league leaders Arsenal up next, it doesn’t get much easier for the Whites.

But Gray believes that Leeds United’s results don’t reflect the promising performances, and the legendary winger isn’t concerned about the club’s survival chances this season.
Speaking to West Yorkshire Sport Daily (12 October), Gray said: “You don’t need to be a scientist to know we need to get points on the board. Football’s about winning matches, but I don’t think we’ve played as bad as the results suggest.
“I thought the first half last weekend we were very good but let it slip in the second half.
“But what I think people have got to realise is that when Jesse first came into the club we were fighting a relegation battle, and you don’t just go from avoiding relegation to a top-six side in one go – it’ll take a bit of building.
“Supporters are going to be worried, but I think I have seen enough to think that we’ll get enough points.”

Points on the board
Leeds United’s performances haven’t been awful, but individual errors and defensive lapses have cost the club vital points.
It seems to be a similar story every week at the moment. The team start well and look bright, but don’t score enough when on top of their opponents.
Then, small moments and lapses of concentration let the opposition in and Leeds get punished for it. It’s a frustrating pattern that can’t be allowed to continue.
Marsch will hope that one strong performance and result will instil some confidence back into his side, but he’ll find it tough to do that against the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been mightily impressive and have defended superbly this season – Leeds aren’t likely to get many chances, and Patrick Bamford looked wasteful against Crystal Palace.
Leeds will need to snap up any chance they get on Sunday afternoon. the home crowd will help, and any points on the board will be a huge plus.
