Door open for Leeds United to sign Reading midfielder John Swift
Leeds United have been presented a glorious opportunity to sign John Swift in the summer as he may have played his last game for Reading.
According to a report from Berkshire Live on 28 April, Swift is expected to leave the club in the summer. The 26-year-old is currently out injured and he is unlikely to play any part in the final two fixtures of the season.
Swift is the joint-longest serving player for Reading, but he is now seeking pastures new after six long years at the club.
He is out of contract in the summer and will be available for free. Put it simply, his time at the club is over.
The report claims that a host of clubs have shown an interest in him, including the likes of Brentford, Burnley, West Bromwich Albion and Leeds.
If the Whites manage to avoid the drop, they should look to snap him up ahead of other rivals.

Swift is a vastly experienced player who has managed over 200 appearances for the club, scoring 33 goals. He has played a pivotal role for the club in recent years, but the present campaign brought the best out of him.
It is also an indication that he is approaching the peak of his career. With 11 goals and 13 assists in 38 Championship games, he has taken his game to a whole new level.
Leeds need a creative midfielder in the summer, and Swift on a free transfer would be a smart addition. He is technically gifted and would be keen to move to the Premier League in a few months’ time.
The best part of Swift’s game is his versatility. Swift can play as an attacking midfielder, a proper central midfielder and as a defensive midfielder.
Not only he is good at finishing and creating chances for others, but Swift is also very good at dribbling and taking set-pieces. These overall qualities will add a different dimension to the squad under Jesse Marsch who would see him as an upgrade over someone like Mateusz Klich.
The Polish midfielder is a senior player at the club but he has somewhat become one-dimensional at Elland Road, and Swift can be the perfect partner for Kalvin Phillips in midfield.
In other Leeds United news, Raphinha and Phillips have send messages to one of their exit-linked teammates.
