Don Hutchison drools over Brenden Aaronson in Leeds United loss v Crystal Palace

Don Hutchison has showered praise on Brenden Aaronson as Leeds United suffered a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Sunday (10 October) in the Premier League.

The Whites took an early lead at Selhurst Park where Aaronson produced a bit of magical skill from which Pascal Struijk scored after the ball had hit the post.

Odsonne Edouard headed in from Michael Olise’s free-kick and Eberechi Eze scored in the 76th minute to earn all three points for the home side.

“Another bright young player with a good start. Really energetic. Good signing,” said Hutchison (6.56 min, while commentating on the game) on the Premier League world feed.

Worry

Hutchison said those lines when Aaronson first tried to hit the target and he was teed up by Rodrigo.

Moments later, he produced a sublime skill to open up the Palace defence, but his effort only managed to hit the bar. From the rebound, Struijk was there to slot home.

After making an excellent start to the campaign with wins against Wolves and Chelsea in their first three games, they are now without a win since August.

Aaronson looked lively throughout while Patrick Bamford also looked sharp, but Jesse Marsch will be frustrated that they couldn’t get anything out of this game.

It is their problems at the back that have been their downfall. Most importantly, they are failing to defend well against set pieces.

As per BBC Sport, they have conceded 20 goals from set pieces since the last season, and once again they failed to deal with it.

They have picked just one point from their four away games this season, and this is indeed a huge concern.
