Don Goodman names Leeds star as 'honourable mention' in TOTY but fails to include him
Don Goodman has failed to name Leeds United winger Jack Harrison in his team of the season but has listed him as an honourable mention.
Harrison, 23, has been in superb form while on loan at Elland Road from Manchester City this season, scoring five goals and supplying seven assists in 37 Championship appearances.
However the former New York City attacker has failed to impress Goodman enough to be included in his team of the season with the ex-West Brom forward instead choosing Brentford wingers Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins ahead of him.
“It was hard to leave out Said Benrahma, but I have gone for his team-mates Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins on either wing,” Goodman told Sky Sports. “I know Watkins plays through the middle now, but I have had to fit him in.
“Honourable mentions to Leeds’ Jack Harrison, Swansea’s Andre Ayew, QPR’s Ebere Eze and Preston’s Daniel Johnson, but I have selected Matheus Pereira to complete my attacking midfield.”
Harrison has been the stand-out winger for the team that is top of the league.
It is hard to ignore Brentford’s attackers because they have been so good this season but Harrison is one of the top contenders for Leeds’ player of the season award and should be in Goodman’s team.
At least the Sky Sports pundit mentioned Harrison to be fair as none of the other EFL pundits named the Whites winger.
Ben White and Kalvin Phillips were popular mentions while Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas also got a couple of shout-outs between them.
If we got to choose though, it would be the entire Leeds starting line-up.
In other Leeds United news, this 20-year-old still has a lot to prove at Elland Road.
