Dominic Calvert-Lewin reacts as Bukayo Saka confirms new Arsenal contract
Leeds United star Dominic Calvert-Lewin has reacted to the news that Bukayo Saka has penned a contract extension at Arsenal.
The winger’s previous deal kept him at the Emirates until the summer of 2027, but he has now agreed terms that will see him remain in North London until 2030.
Saka hinted at the new contract in his celebration on Wednesday evening after scoring the opener in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Wolves.
The news was confirmed by Arsenal on Thursday, and the Englishman is now reportedly the highest-paid player at the club.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin reveals his thoughts on Bukayo Saka deal
Saka has played with Calvert-Lewin at international level, with the pair both part of the England squad at Euro 2021.
However, the Leeds striker hasn’t featured for the Three Lions since that tournament, due to several seasons of poor form at Everton.
Calvert-Lewin has been very much back to his best this term though, sparking rumours of a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 28-year-old has already hit 10 Premier League goals this season, and went on a scoring run of six consecutive games back in December.

Following Saka’s announcement on Thursday, Calvert-Lewin was quick to show support for his England teammate.
Saka posted a photo of himself signing his contract on Instagram, with the caption: “Fully Committed.”
Calvert-Lewin liked the post, congratulating the 24-year-old on his new deal.

What is Calvert-Lewin’s contract situation at Leeds?
Calvert-Lewin became a free agent in the summer following his departure from Everton, which meant that Leeds were able to snap him up without paying a penny.
The Whites did fork out on elsewhere though, handing the centre-forward a three-year deal at Elland Road that will keep him there until the summer of 2028.
It might’ve seemed like a risk at the time to give Calvert-Lewin such a long contract, especially given his injury record, but that decision has proved to be a very good one.

Daniel Farke’s side now don’t have to worry about negotiating terms for the next 18 months at least, and can enjoy their goalscoring striker instead.
Calvert-Lewin will be looking to add to his Premier League tally on Saturday, as Leeds travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa.
