Djed Spence to be axed by Daniel Farke, two changes – Leeds United predicted XI v Ipswich Town
Leeds United could be set for two changes to their line-up ahead of their game against Ipswich on Saturday as Daniel Farke continues to switch full-backs.
Following a three-game run in the side for Djed Spence, the on-loan Tottenham full-back could make way for Junior Firpo once again who has returned from injury and is training with the squad.
Farke will be wary about changing up his team too much, but Dan James could be replaced by Wilfried Gnonto on the right wing. The Welshman has lacked composure in recent games, having “missed a huge late chance” against Coventry City last weekend. [The Yorkshire Post]

The predicted changes for Leeds’ game against Ipswich are understandable, with the opponents one of the most threatening in the division. Ahead of goalkeeper Illan Meslier is likely to be the ever-dependable Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon, who have continued their rock-solid partnership in defence.
Archie Gray will be expected to keep his position at right-back, battling against one of the most dangerous wingers in the Championship – Nathan Broadhead. However, Farke may prefer Firpo to Spence on the left-hand side, with his years of experience more likely to help against Wes Burns.
It is difficult to see either Glen Kamara or Ethan Ampadu replaced, having formed a brilliant partnership in midfield. But the latter’s international teammate, James, could be hooked for the more skilful Gnonto as Leeds look to get back to winning ways.

Joel Piroe was unusually substandard versus Coventry, winning just 25 per cent of the ground duels he entered (FotMob). However, it is unlikely that Farke changes more than one player in his attacking quartet, with the Dutchman, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter all expected to start.
Joe Gelhardt could make another appearance, having replaced Piroe with five minutes left to play and Leeds searching for a winner that never came. It is unlikely that the 21-year-old is handed his third league start of the season, though.
The two sides have not met since 2012, when the Sky Blues fought out a 2-1 win. Ross McCormack scored Leeds’ only goal of the game.
In other Leeds United news, the club received a transfer boost as one target is now expected to leave his club.
