Diego Llorente, Robin Koch, Marc Roca and Luis Sinisterra expected to be at Leeds United pre-season return

Leeds United are expecting Dieog Llorente, Robin Koch, Marc Roca and Luis Sinisterra to be at pre-season training on Monday (3 July) despite ongoing exit talks.

The squad return to training for the first time since relegation to the Championship was confirmed in May, but several players are said to be close to exits away from Elland Road.

However according to Leeds-Live (30 June), the club are not expected to give any players an exemption to stay away from training unless deals get completed over the weekend.

“There may be a number of players expecting to seal moves away from Elland Road this summer, but none have thus far been told they can stay clear until their next moves have been secured,” they wrote.

Llorente is said to be close to a return to Roma on loan, while Robin Koch is the top defensive target for Frankfurt and has also been targeted by Napoli. Marc Roca is on the verge of a move to La Liga with Real Betis, while Luis Sinisterra is a target for AC Milan.

Right decision

Until a transfer is completed or in the latter stages where a player has other obligations like a medical, then they’re a Leeds player and need to follow the same schedule as everyone else.

There are no guarantees in football and if a deal for those players were to fall through, then they would need to be integrated into the team in order to play in the Championship whether they want to or not.

The fact of the matter is that while deals are close and clubs are interested, nothing is done and therefore they have to turn up for training.

Hopefully the new manager will already be in place to be able to step in and take the session and have a look at everyone so he can begin planning properly.

It shouldn’t really be news that they’ll be there, but we now know that if they’re not it won’t be because they have permission from the club unless things have advanced between now and then.
