Dharmesh Sheth blasts Illan Meslier as Leeds United goalkeeper shellshocked while fans sing v Bournemouth
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth blasted Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier for his errors in their 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday [30 April].
Leeds’ relegation fears deepened once again, suffering their fourth defeat in five games after yet another sorry and disastrous performance against the Cherries who all but confirmed their own Premier League status for next season.
Goals Jefferson Lerma (2), Dominic Solanke and Antoine Semenyo meant Leeds stay a point clear of the drop zone and it was Meslier’s errors which played a hand in two of Bournemouth’s goals for which the Whited faithful chanted at the Frenchman as heard by Sheth.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, [30 April, 3:52 pm], he said: “Game over. Bournemouth now 4-1 up. It wasn’t a great shot [by Antoine Semeyno] but it squirmed past Illan Meslier. He hasn’t had a good day. He’s looked up to the heavens and can’t believe what happened today.
“The Leeds fans behind me are shouting ‘you’re not fit the wear the shirt’. They are not happy. Bournemouth look like they’re staying up. Leeds are bang in trouble.”
Shocking
It’s time Javi Gracia stops his stubbornness and takes Meslier out of the firing line because these errors have become a recurring theme in the Frenchman’s game and it is becoming very costly to Leeds United.
A simple corner for Bournemouth’s second goal, the exit-linked Frenchman couldn’t punch away in what was yet another schoolboy error. Doing it once is one thing but doing it a second time the next weekend is simply dreadful and it’s clear Meslier is absolutely shot on confidence right now.

Certainly, Meslier is still young and learning his trade at the top level but it is the simple things he is getting wrong that will absolutely worry the Leeds United board and management.
Is it time to sell up this summer? Probably. But, it’s hard to see Meslier pick up any new suitors in the near future the way he’s been performing in recent weeks.
It’s time Joel Robles comes in and replaces him till the end of the season at least, what should be guaranteed, especially if the club secure their Premier League status for next season is that Victor Orta and co should be looking at signing a permanent successor or someone to challenge Meslier for number one spot if he isn’t sold.
In other Leeds United news, one under-fire Whites ace was slammed as “awful” for what he did in the latest sobering display.
