Deco tries to persuade Leeds United to lower asking price for Raphinha

Deco, agent of Raphinha, is trying to persuade Leeds United to do business for under £50million, according to a report from 90min.

Raphinha has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, but the Catalan giants are struggling to meet the asking price set by Leeds.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are all keen to sign, while West Ham still retain an interest in him.

The Gunners have had a bid rejected for the player, with Raphinha setting his heart on joining Barcelona only.

Leeds stay resolute in their decision, and it will take at least £55m for the Whites to even consider an offer.

Deco met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta to discuss the future of Raphinha on Tuesday (21 June) as reported by journalist, Gianluigi Longari.

Tricks won’t work

Deco, obviously, is looking at what should work best for Raphinha.

After securing Premier League status last season, Leeds are under no pressure to sell Raphinha on the cheap, considering he has still two more years left on his current deal.

Barcelona want the player, too, but they have to sort out their own financial problems. Unless they sell some of their players, the Catalan giants won’t be able to bring in Raphinha.

There will be pressure from the player and the agent, but the club are not doing any charity here. The Whites are ready to allow Raphinha to move to a bigger club but only on their own terms.

If Barcelona dither or struggle to come up with an offer, the Premier League clubs will feel they have a chance here.

In such a scenario, the Whites cannot wait for an eternity as they have to plan for the summer ahead.

Having already rejected a bid from Arsenal, the message is pretty clear – pay the money and take our talisman.
