David Seaman shares updated view on Leeds United relegation chances
Former Leeds United goalkeeper David Seaman has admitted that he is feeling better about the club’s chances of avoiding relegation this season after recent results.
The Whites had found themselves right in the mix of the relegation battle under Marcelo Bielsa before he was sacked and Jesse Marsch came in, who has steered them to five points above the drop zone.
With Everton and Burnley battling it out, it would take a collapse from Leeds to now be relegated and former academy graduate Seaman shared on his ‘Seaman Says podcast‘ that he feels better about their chances now after being ‘really nervous’ all season.

“All the way through this season, I’ve been really nervous and I admitted earlier that I’m feeling a little bit better now,” he said.
“We’re not fully safe but we’re almost there. Hopefully there are three worse teams.”
Leeds could all but seal their Premier League status with a win over Crystal Palace on Monday night, depending on the results in other games going in their favour.
Growth
The growth in this Leeds side since Marsch’s arrival is something that not many people expected, considering the fury surrounding Bielsa’s departure.
But the American has come in, kept the squad united, kept the fans happy and has guided this side to a much more comfortable position in the league table.

They look better defensively than they did prior to his arrival, while going forward they still have a great threat. Marsch has quickly found his favoured side and with injured players returning, he’s been boosted massively.
Seaman, like all other fans, had every right to be nervous but over recent weeks the attention seems to have swung to Everton and Burnley for the final relegation place with many taking Watford and Norwich’s departure from the league for granted.
But it’s important that the Elland Road boys don’t find themselves complacent and caught back up in the next few games. But the fans can definitely breathe a little easier now.
