David Prutton says quick start imperative for Leeds United in 2022/23
David Prutton has urged Leeds United to start strong in the Premier League ahead of the highly anticipated 2022/23 season.
The Whites have been busy in the transfer window with three new additions already in Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca.
After finishing the 2021/22 campaign strongly amid their relegation crisis, the former Elland Road ace has highlighted the importance of picking up where they left off.

Prutton told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “A good strong start is needed and Leeds’ first two fixtures jump out because of who they are against but we also know what both Southampton and Wolves can both do in the Premier League.
“Those games will come around before we know it and it will be back to how tough it was at the end of last season. Leeds showed the benefit of getting the work done early in their first season back in the Premier League.
“It meant that when it came to the pertinent time of the year they could actually almost enjoy it. So, it’s absolutely imperative that Leeds begin well and also because of how last season finished.
“Fans know well that a season can drag on for a long time if you don’t begin it in the right possible manner.”
Momentum.
Last season ended on a high note rather by force than by choice but that needs to be brought into the next campaign.
A quick start is always good, especially after coming so close to being relegated last season.

It will help massively with the players who suffered last season’s confidence but also ensure the new boys get off to the right start too.
A lot of fans are really optimistic about the next campaign and rightly so.
Victor Orta and co have done an excellent job of pumping the life back into the Whites with some quick and effective business so far in the transfer market.
Of course, the futures of star duo Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are still very much up in the air which is worrying.
Losing either one would be a huge blow and that outcome looks increasingly likely as the weeks go on.
However, the squad is currently in good shape and that could get even better before the end of the window.
