David Prutton predicts score for Leeds clash v Cardiff

Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will win against Cardiff at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday.

Leeds will resume their bid to win promotion from the Championship this weekend after waiting over three months for the season to get back underway.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are in a strong position at the top of the table with them seven points clear of third with nine games to play.

First up is a testing trip to Cardiff.

Leeds squandered a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 with the Bluebirds at Elland Road earlier this season but Prutton cannot see past the Whites winning this time.

He’s tipped the Yorkshire giants to win 2-1 in South Wales.

“Cardiff are one of the many sides queuing up just outside the play-offs, and Neil Harris would love to lay down a marker with a big win against Leeds,” Prutton wrote on the Sky Sports website.

“Leeds have a seven-point lead over Fulham in third, and any fears about their small squad tiring for the run-in may well have been helped by the suspension. They should be fit and firing for this one. Away win.”

Harris will no doubt love to win against Leeds – he always seems to have it in for the Whites. But Bielsa’s men should be fully refreshed and prepared to face the challenge that Cardiff will pose this weekend.

Of course, the capitulation against the Welsh side earlier this season is going to be mentioned over and over but that should be used as a motivational tool for Leeds, rather than something to make them fear the reverse fixture.

Prutton’s got it down for Leeds to win 2-1 but we cannot see Cardiff scoring.

Leeds didn’t concede in five games before the enforced break and we expect that to turn into six games.

We’re going to go for 2-0 to the Whites.
