David Prutton predicts result of Leeds United v Rotherham for Sky Sports
David Prutton has made his predictions ahead of the Championship clash between Leeds United and Rotherham at Elland Road this weekend.
The Whites are sitting in third place in the table and on a fantastic run of form, having progressed to the 5th round of the FA Cup in midweek thanks to an extra-time win over Plymouth.
But after rotating their squad for that midweek clash they are expected to be back to full strength and Prutton told Sky Sports (9 February) that he expects them to put Rotherham aside and claim a comfortable 3-1 win.
“Leeds are on the hunt now,” he said. “They are a point back from Southampton having played a game extra, but are looking in relentless form. It could turn out to be a two-horse race for that spot if they keep on their tail.
“Rotherham just seem to be bouncing from tough game to tough game and it’s not giving them a chance to build any momentum. They were put aside by the Saints last week, and the same thing is likely to happen at Elland Road. Leeds win. 3-1.”
Leeds United must win these games for Premier League promotion
Leeds have already beaten Leicester and Ipswich twice this season, but they have dropped a lot of points where they shouldn’t have and that’s why they’re not higher up the table.
The reverse fixture against Rotherham saw a 1-1 draw in a game that Daniel Farke would have been expecting to dominate and win, and if every other result had been the same they’d be in the top two.

But the team have certainly improved in recent weeks and started sharing the goals around a lot more, and that has allowed more threats and more opportunities to win tight games.
Rotherham have just one win in their last 18 in all competitions and there is no reason that should be changing at Elland Road, where Leeds are unbeaten all season.
Prutton is expecting a 3-1 but realistically most fans will be expecting a clean sheet to go with the goals, so hopefully the boys will prove him wrong on that front and claim a dominant victory.
