David Prutton predicts result of Leeds United showdown with Blackburn Rovers for Sky Sports
David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to seven matches when they face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 9 December.
The Sky Sports presenter believes that Daniel Farke’s side will make it three wins on the bounce when they face Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side at Ewood Park and cut the gap to the automatic promotion places, predicting the Whites will win 2-1.
Blackburn are also in the hunt for the playoffs but come into Saturday’s clash on the back of a 3-1 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Sheffield Wednesday and while Prutton believes it will be close, he thinks Farke’s side will have enough to claim all three points.

Writing in his Sky Sports Championship predictions (7 December) he said: “Blackburn look brilliant at times this season, on other occasions they manage to throw a result in like the one at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. It is why they are just on the outside of the playoffs.
“Leeds look in very good shape. But they need to just win and win and win if they are to close that gap on the top two.
“It could be close here, but the away side will shade it.”
Keep up the pace
Leeds United have a very simple task between now and the end of the season. They need to try and win every game that they play so that they can close the gap between them and Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the race for the automatic promotion places.
A trip to Ewood Park is the sort of game that can represent a banana skin in the Whites’ season, but it has proven to be a happy hunting ground for away sides so far this season. Of the nine games Tomasson’s side have played at home this season, they have won four and lost five.

Leeds have been good on their travels, winning five of their ten games on the road this season and if they want to close the gap at the top of the table they have to come away with all three points on Saturday. But Blackburn will be looking to get back to winning ways after a disastrous defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
If Farke was offered a 2-1 win as Prutton has predicted he would likely take it happily before a ball was kicked. It doesn’t matter how well Leeds play at Ewood Park, the most important thing is that they find a way to claim all three points.
In other Leeds United news, Kieron Dyer has admitted that the Whites are a “juggernaut” in the race for automatic promotion
