Leeds United will bounce back from their FA Cup heartbreak against Chelsea to record a 10th straight Championship victory when they visit Huddersfield Town, David Prutton has predicted.

The Whites were beaten 3-2 by a last-gasp effort from Conor Gallagher at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday (28 February) to exit the cup at the fifth-round stage.

But last time out in the league, they defeated leaders Leicester City 3-1 at Elland Road and Prutton - writing for Sky Sports (29 February) - tipped Leeds to get back to winning ways at John Smith's Stadium in a 2-0 triumph.

"That was a fabulous win for Huddersfield Town and Andre Breitenreiter last weekend at Watford. To get off to a good start in this league as a new manager is so important, and it stopped them sliding into the bottom three as well," Prutton wrote.

"This is a tough proposition, though. Leeds just don’t look like they can drop points right now. Even fate was on their side it seemed against Leicester last week. Can they make it 10 wins in a row? It’s hard to back against.

"Prediction: 0-2."

Can Leeds United make it 10 Championship wins a row v Huddersfield Town?

There is absolutely no love lost between the two West Yorkshire rivals and Huddersfield would love nothing more than to derail Leeds at a time when they are flying towards promotion back to the Premier League.

But Leeds are just an absolute force right now and can consider themselves extremely unlucky to have been on the losing side against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a match that was a barnstorming cup tie.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke
Daniel Farke is hoping Leeds United make it 10 Championship wins in a row.

In the league, the Whites are taking on and defeating all comers and the scenes at Elland Road after they defeated Leicester City last time out in the Championship were special indeed.

Still, there can be no resting on laurels and Daniel Farke will be keen to impress the importance of staying focused in a tough fixture against a side who started life under their manager with a win last time out.
