David Prutton makes Leeds United relegation prediction
Dave Prutton has admitted that he is “confident” Leeds United will remain in the Premier League next season despite their relegation fears.
The Whites currently sit seven points off the drop zone in 16th place but have played more games than all four teams below them.
The former Leeds man expressed his disappointment with where the team currently finds themselves but was adamant they have the means necessary to turn things around.

Prutton wrote in his Yorkshire Evening Post column: “The win put the Whites seven points clear of the drop zone and, whilst teams below Leeds have games in hand, there is absolutely more than enough there to stay up.
“If that’s slightly underwhelming for an approach when it comes to a club the size of Leeds then you can’t really apologise for that because that’s exactly where they find themselves.
“There has to be a case of not running before you can walk and I think there has been a realisation of that.
“Safety is absolutely still the first priority but it’s a priority that Leeds should be able to accomplish and I’m confident enough that they will be a Premier League team at the start of next season, especially given the resilience that they have shown.”
Last stretch
Every single Whites fan will be just as – if not more – disappointed than Prutton is with the state the club finds itself in at the moment.

Nobody would have expected a season like this after finishing ninth in emphatic style in Leeds’ first season back in the Premier League after a highly anticipated return.
If the squad hadn’t been riddled with injuries all season long leaving all of the key men absent, there is no way they would be anywhere near as close as they currently are to the relegation zone.
The comeback against Wolves was the perfect result ahead of the international break. It would have filled the players with confidence before having a crucial break, allowing Marsch to work with his players without any interruptions.
The American has certainly got over the worst of it after taking over the club in the dire state it was left in after Marcelo Bielsa’s sacking, hopefully, he and the players can hold their nerve and get the job done.
In other Leeds United news, Patrick Bamford will be back “stronger” according to David Prutton.
