David Prutton: Leeds United will have thought ‘Hallelujah’ after Burnley sack Sean Dyche
David Prutton has insisted that Leeds United will have been thinking “hallelujah” after Burnley sacked Sean Dyche this week.
In a move that shocked most in the Premier League, the Clarets decided to sack the longest-serving manager in the division.
Leeds are currently eight points ahead of Burnley, and will have a game-in-hand over them when they take on Crystal Palace next Monday.

Writing in his latest Yorkshire Evening Post column this morning [18 April], the Sky Sports pundit looked at things from an Elland Road perspective.
“But, when you look at it from a Leeds point of view and what their rivals are doing, I bet you would be thinking ‘hallelujah’, brilliant in the nicest possible sense,” he wrote.
“They were the main ones who knew how to get out of that dogfight but they are hamstringing themselves by getting rid of the man who knows how to do it.”

Desperate.
Burnley will have been thinking that this is one last desperate throw of the dice to try and magic up some form.
It nearly worked at West Ham yesterday, but they were made to settle for a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium.
Leeds will be watching very closely this week as the Clarets take on Southampton and Wolves, two games that if they don’t win, they are likely relegated.
Everton are the ones to chase though after our form has hit overdrive, taking 10 points from the last possible 12.
Jesse Marsch will be watching, but he will be concentrating more on what his side does than on those around him after a positive month.
Win one or two more games and it doesn’t matter what those do around us, it is guaranteed we will be safe.
In other Leeds United news, Andrea Radrizzani has broken his silence on Twitter sharing when he will leave the club
