David Prutton: Leeds set for fantastic clash with Real Betis

Leeds United start their pre-season friendlies on Tuesday with their annual trip to Guiseley at Nethermoor.

The Whites have a handful of games throughout the week, with games against Blackburn and Fleetwood also before the weekend.

David Prutton has predicted a gruelling challenge for Marcelo Bielsa’s squad, and predicted a huge clash with Real Betis at the end of the week.

Before travelling to take on Ajax next week, the Whites will first welcome Betis to Loughborough Stadium – somewhere the under-23s regularly play.

Sky Sports pundit, Prutton has predicted a “fantastic” clash ahead at the university set-up over the weekend.

“United will then take on Real Betis the following day at Loughborough University and imagine if that was a European game,” he wrote for the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“That would be amazing – an away day in Betis with this type of team.

“The game is at Loughborough and having been there and done pre-season there it is a fantastic facility.”

All out.

We wouldn’t expect anything different from El Loco.

Bielsa is set to use every single player in his first team and academy set up across the next week and it is a brilliant opportunity for every single one of them.

With only a couple of weeks until the new Premier League season, this is the perfect time to stake your claim.

Big games against the likes of Real Betis and Ajax should be the perfect warm-up chance, with both in Europe next season.

That is where we want to be, and should we pick up a couple of big wins, it will be yet another season where we mean serious business.

Prutton is backing this pre-season to be “amazing” for the Whites, and we can’t wait to see what is ahead of us for the next year.
