David Prutton believes Leeds United would debate future of Tyler Adams if bid of £50 million arrived
Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes Tyler Adams would be tempted to part ways with Leeds United due to his future ambitions if a bid in the region of £50million was lodged, he told Yorkshire Evening Post.
The 23-year-old captained the USA at the Qatar World Cup and thoroughly impressed fans and pundits alike with a terrific string of performances – especially against Gareth Southgate’s England during the group stages.
The Whites only completed the purchase of the midfielder in the summer, when they picked him up from RB Leipzig for a fee of around £20million, and he has subsequently impressed in the heart of Jesse Marsch’s midfield this season.

However, pundit Prutton, writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post, stated that the USA international would be tempted to leave Elland Road if a £50million bid came in.
He wrote: “In the sense of performance wise, it feels like Tyler Adams is growing into a player that belongs at that level. I think he’s everything that you want in a modern-day midfielder and I think Leeds fans will be looking at him and counting their lucky stars that he’s very much part of what they’re doing going forward.
“When it comes to the future of Tyler Adams, football is very immediate. You could say that Tyler has only been at Leeds for a few months but if someone comes in and says ‘here’s 50million quid for him’ then you say ‘oh crikey’ and the ambition of the player has got to come into it.
“Tyler does strike me as a very ambitious player and the young man that we are seeing now is a manifestation of the kid that I saw barking orders at senior players for New York Red Bulls. His career has gone in that type of trajectory.”

Big game player
Adams will now be on the radar of every European giant after his brilliant World Cup campaign, and Leeds fans will be praying that the midfielder ignores all the outside noise and continues to thrive at Elland Raod.
With Adams signing a contract until the summer of 2027, Marsch will be hopeful that his key man will honour his contract and become a core member of Leeds’ push for European football in the coming years.
The Whites have an extremely exciting crop of young players at their disposal, and the likes of Sonny Perkins, Mateo Joseph and even Brenden Aaronson should all be a permanent fixture in the side for the years to come.
If the USA international is to be lured away from Elland Road, it would have to be a bid above Prutton’s £50million estimation and more likely way more given his joy at the World Cup.
Leeds fans will be hopeful that Adams can keep himself grounded and continue to thrive for Marsch during the second half of the Premier League season.
