David Prutton believes Jack Harrison is very important to Leeds United
David Prutton believes that Leeds United star Jack Harrison is very important to the Whites, and his absence against Newcastle United proved that.
Speaking in his column for the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Sky Sports pundit heaped praise on the 24-year-old for his defensive work rate, and he believes that the Whites missed him on Friday.
The former Manchester City winger has caught Covid and, therefore, missed the Newcastle match, and it seems as if Prutton believes he is a key player for the Whites.
He said: “You have got to look at key players who are out and Raphinha then coming off with what Marcelo said was a hip issue.
“Jack Harrison also missed Friday’s game due to coronavirus, and his absence showed how important Jack has become to Leeds because they missed him.
“He is good going forward, but he works his socks off going back too.”
Did Leeds miss Harrison?
Well, in Harrison’s place, Dan James was handed his first start for the Whites since finally signing from Manchester United.
However, he failed to make too much of an impression and the game appeared to pass him by [Yorkshire Evening Post].
Of course, it is very early days for the young Welshman, and we believe he will come good, but you could certainly argue that the Whites missed Harrison.
The winger has become a key player for the Whites under Marcelo Bielsa, playing in 133 of the Argentine’s 146 games as Leeds boss.
So, you can see where Prutton is coming from, and the sooner he is back, the better.
Once Harrison recovers, the Whites will have three excellent first-team wingers with Crysencio Summerville there as an exciting fourth choice, so we hope to see Harrison back in a Leeds shirt soon.
