David Prutton apologises to Bristol City fans after what he said about Leeds
Leeds United have a chance to take a step closer to securing the Championship title on Monday when they face Bristol City.
A 6-0 victory over Stoke City on Easter Monday ensured that the club were promoted to the top-flight at a second attempt after Sheffield United’s defeat to Burnley.
It had been a nervous end to the season after an inconsistent run of form, but the club are now certain to be in the Premier League next campaign.
With Bristol City up next, Leeds could practically win the title as long as they pick up three points and Burnley lose to QPR on Saturday, thanks to their superior goal difference. However, it will no doubt be a tough game, with Bristol City looking to secure their place in the play-offs.
Now, ahead of the build-up to the match, Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has apologised to Bristol City fans for what he said in his preview of the game.

Prutton ‘cannot see’ Bristol City victory against Leeds
Despite promotion being secured, it has been a controversial week at Leeds United.
Daniel Farke could be sacked by Leeds despite achieving at least a top-two finish.
This may have caused many to tip Bristol City to win on Monday, given the current uncertainty as well as the importance of the fixture for the Robins.
Yet, Prutton simply cannot see Bristol City getting all three points from the match, given Leeds’ incredible home form.

Wins | 27 |

Losses | 8 |
He told the Essential EFL podcast (April 24) when asked if he thinks the Robins can take advantage of Leeds already securing promotion: “No. Having seen enough of Leeds at home, Stoke have got so much work to do, a world away from Bristol City. Liam’s done a great job there. Leeds at home are an absolute ocean liner, they will smash through you and really kind of show you what they’re about.
“Sorry, Bristol City fans, I love you to bits, I love Liam he’s had a cracking season with them. I find it hard to see them (winning), even if they (Leeds) might have spent all week doing fun things. It’s Leeds at home.”
Leeds need to continue their momentum into the last two matches
While lifting the Championship title is not crucial, Leeds must ensure they get this task over the line.
Momentum is crucial when entering the Premier League, and winning their last two games and winning the Championship would do the side the world of good for the upcoming season.
Elland Road needs to be a fortress next season, and the club have still only lost one league game at their ground this season.
Recently, a potential Elland Road expansion was approved by the Leeds council as the importance of the stadium was recognised.
Now, the club must ensure that they beat Bristol City on Monday night to end their home campaign on a high.
